Larry Baldwin, MD
Dr. Larry Baldwin is a fellowship-trained Glaucoma specialist who is a native of the Central Coast. His practice includes the management and treatment of glaucoma, small-incision cataract surgery with the latest in lens implant technology, and comprehensive eye care. He has lived and worked in San Luis Obispo County since 1989, performing thousands of intraocular micro-surgeries for the correction and control of cataracts and glaucoma.
Frank M. Basich, MD
Dr. Frank Basich provides comprehensive ophthalmic services, specializing in cataract and pterygium surgery. He has practiced on the central coast for 13 years, and has performed thousands of no-stitch cataract surgeries.
W. James Gealy, Jr, MD
Dr. James Gealy is one of the three founding partners of San Luis Obispo Eye Associates and has been providing medical and surgical comprehensive and vitreo-retinal eye care in San Luis Obispo county since 1983. He specializes in the medical and surgical management of retinal disorders with emphasis in macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal detachment, retinal vascular disorders, macular holes and epiretinal membranes.
Rena A. Stathacopoulos, MD
Dr. Rena Stathacopoulos specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. She provides diagnosis and treatment of eye problems in children. This includes routine vision care as well as complex surgical and medical care. She also sees adults requiring specialized care for eye muscle and eyelid movement disorders. Common problems requiring care in children include strabismus (misaligned eyes), tearduct disorders, amblyopia ("lazy eye"), ptosis (droopy eyelid), nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. While Dr. Stathacopoulos is a surgeon, her philosophy is that all effective non-surgical treatments should be tried first.
Spencer W. Rogers, MD
Dr. Spencer Rogers is an ophthalmologist certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has broad experience in comprehensive eye care, including premium-lens cataract surgery, glaucoma and retina laser treatment, intravitreal injections, Botox, and oculoplastic surgery. A recent transplant from Northern California, he's ecstatic about realizing a years-long dream of becoming part of the central coast community.
Michael Heeg, MD
Dr. Michael Heeg specializes in diseases of the retina and vitreous. He uses the most current techniques to diagnose and treat diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular disease, macular holes, epi-retinal membranes, retinal detachments and retinal vascular diseases.
Joseph R. Horne, OD
Dr. Joe Horne provides primary eye care including eye exams, contact lenses, and the treatment of ocular diseases, to patients at San Luis Obispo Eye Associates. He enjoys making sure that all the visual problems of every patient are perfectly corrected.
